Milanda Marshall - The Music Den's Teacher Of The Month for September 2013

Announcing The Music Den's Teacher Of The Month for September 2013 - Milanda Marshall

At The Music Den, we are proud of our teachers and their accomplishments. We want you to know a little about them so we are featuring one teacher each month. Congratulations to Milanda Marshall, our September 2013 featured "Teacher of the Month"

Milanda Marshall has been teaching at The Music Den for over 2 years and is a valued member of our team. She is a true professional in every sense of the word. Milanda offers a plethora of skills, teaching many different band instruments from trumpet, trombone, flute, alto and bari saxophone, clarinet, french horn, percussion, tuba, cello, violin, euphonium, guitar, and piano to her students.

What makes Milanda so unique is the ability to relate to each student whether they are 7 years old or an adult. She maintains a great rapport and provides encouraging and engaging instruction. Her communication skills are excellent and every student arrives excited to see her. Milanda's philosophy is to tailor each student's lesson to the individual needs employing sight-reading skills and compositional techniques. Technique is high on her list of priorities and performance ranks equally as important.

Milanda loves to create ensemble experiences for her students. Just recently, she put together a "pop band and singing ensemble" and had them on the stage at the Randolph Performing Arts Center performing songs for their friends and family. And this summer, she successfully co-directed our first Fine Arts Music Camp

Milanda has also been teaching for over 15 years in the public school environment. Her current position is at the Valley Road School in Stanhope, NJ. She has extensive experience in coordinating both band and choral groups and offers private lessons to the students there and at her own personal studio.

To meet Milanda Marshall and discuss lessons or joining one of her ensembles, stop by the store or call (973) 927-5800 (lesson department). Milanda is in the store Monday - Friday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Entrance To The Randolph Store Made Safer - The Music Den

Entrance to the Randolph Store Made Safer

We are happy to announce that today the NJDOT came by and has cleared back the roadside vegetation up to 20ft from the road, just before the store entrance of our The Music Den store in Randolph, NJ on Route 10.

If you've visited our Randolph store before, you know that the entrance was hidden from view and would come upon you suddenly if you were not aware that it was there. This fact caused several accidents, primarily with people striking the curb with their tires because they missed the entrance.

We are thankful that the NJDOT has resolved this issue, and that our store entrance is now safer for all the customers who come to shop, and all of the families that attend lessons there.

Thank you NJDOT!

At The Music Den, we are proud of our teachers and their accomplishments. We want you to know a little about them so we are featuring one teacher each month. Congratulations to Chris Buechler, our August 2013 featured "Teacher of the Month"

Chris Buechler has been teaching at The Music Den for over 5 years and is a valued member of our team. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. Chris provides a unique experience for the beginning student, guiding them through the rigors of focused and technique driven training. For the advanced student, Chris performs an analysis of their current skills and develops a routine to guide them towards advanced performance and practicing skills.

Each student under Chris’s tutelage can be assured that they will be prepared for any performance at their training level, whether it be college auditions, ensemble performances, or yearly student competitions. You can place your confidence in Chris to have you prepared! Setting a good example, Chris maintains a routine practice schedule and even spends his preparation time at The Music Den, practicing his instruments for at least an hour prior to seeing his students for the day.

Chris Buechler has been a member of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as the principal bassoonist. He has played with the Princeton Symphony, Riverside Symphonia, New Jersey Pops Orchestra, The New Eastman Symphony, and both Rutgers Symphony and Summerfest Orchestra. Chris earned his Masters Degree in Performance and Literature at Eastman School of Music and a Bachelors degree in Performance from Rutgers University

Chris is putting together The Music Den’s first “Chamber Wind Ensemble” for the fall of 2013. This will be a group comprised from our in-house students and anyone in the community who would like to participate. The Ensemble will be formed through an audition process and accepted students will be the first members of the “Randolph Performing Arts Center Wind Ensemble” (RPACWE). Audition information will be available on our website and in-store by the end of August.
